September 7-11
Week 1
Welcome Parents/Guardians to the 2015-2016 School Year!!
My name is Ms. Jennifer Ewing and I want to welcome your son/daughter to the 5th grade. I have been teaching ELA for 10 years and I’m looking forward to developing and enhancing your child’s reading and writing skills. We will be utilizing the Success for All (SFA) and Write Steps curriculum to prepare your child for future reading and writing success.
I am very passionate about educating your child. Education is a very powerful tool that can open many doors and leads to numerous opportunities. Parent-teacher relationships are necessary to ensure our students’ success. Therefore a good working relationship between home and school is vital.
I look forward to partnering with you during your child’s learning process by creating a learning environment which will allow our students to explore and adventure new genres, improve writing as well advance their critical thinking skills. I hope you’re ready for an exciting, fun-filled and informative school year.
Please feel free to venture out and utilize other online resources which are available to support your child’s learning experiences, such as www.funbrain.com, www.bookadventure.com, and www.funenglishgames.com.
Throughout the year I will communicate via email, report cards, telephone calls and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at (313) 259-1744 (Ext. 1205) or via email at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Jennifer Ewing
